FROM THE HEART SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

This $1,000 scholarship is being offered in honor of, Frank Farmer, the father of Linda Furches. Frank was an avid horseman,
and a talented breeder. Many of the horses and ponies he bred throughout the years came to Linda’s Foxtale Farm in Oley, PA.
His program developed horses that could carefully carry a beginner in weekly lessons, yet could help a hardworking student
successfully qualify for Zone Finals.  His horses often participated in PHSA sponsored events. Frank was a staunch supporter
of all young riders who worked hard to be a part of the sport, regardless of the means from which they came.

The scholarship is open to both high school seniors and college students whose lives have been impacted positively by being a
part of the equestrian community. Candidates will write a short essay about a person or horse that played an important part in
their life. In keeping with Frank’s vision that all children should be able enjoy our sport through hard work, applicants do not
have to be a regular competitor to apply.
HORSE SHOW OF THE YEAR

Nominees should promote fair competition and sportsmanship.

Was there a show this year that significantly upgraded their facilities? Did you work with ringside staff that went above and
beyond for an exhibitor? What show office do you remember as outstanding?

Send in your nominee and a brief description of why they are deserving of this award to any PHSA Board Member.

PARENT OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Ray Gambone Memorial Trophy celebrates a parent that best exemplifies a love and enjoyment of horse showing
while supporting the exhibitors and PHSA - recognizing the many hours of support and encouragement parents provide.
This person should demonstrate good sportsmanship and the ability to be a positive influence to others.
